Abstract: Two new species of Heleomyzidae are described. Heleomyza kovali sp. nov. is
described based on material from the Czech Republic and Crimea and differs from
other European Heleomyza species by the structure of male genitalia. Eccoptomera
nevrlyi sp. nov. is described based on two males from Jeseníky Mts. and Šumava
Mts. (Czech Republic) and differs from the most similar species, E. ornata Loew,
1862, by the hind femur having a distinct subbasal protuberance with a tuft of
short setae and by the structure of male genitalia. The extreme rarity of both
species is discussed.
