Abstract: Bruneastrum cardinale gen. & sp. nov. is described from Brunei. This is the
first record of the tribe Hemisphaeriini Melichar, 1906 and second
representative of the family Issidae (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea) from the country.
A checklist and an identification key to the species of Hemisphaeriini known
from Borneo are given.
