Abstract: Orateon praestans sp. nov. from Yemen is described and illustrated. Based on the
detailed examination of its morphology, Orateon gen. nov. is most similar and
presumably related to the genera Terametopon Vienna, 1987 and Alienocacculus
Kanaar, 2008 sharing with them ciliate elytral epipleuron, labial palp
chaetotaxy and protibial spur position.
