Tarehylava, a new planthopper genus from Madagascar (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Ricaniidae)

Abstract: A new monotypic genus of ricaniid planthoppers (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha:
Ricaniidae), Tarehylava gen. nov., is described for T. avymaina sp. nov. (type
species), based on four females collected in the spiny forest ecoregion of
south-western Madagascar. Habitus, as well as external and internal female
genital structures of the new genus and species are described and illustrated.
