A review of the genus Rhyparus in the Philippines, with descriptions of two new species from Mindanao (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Aphodiinae)

Abstract: Species of the genus Rhyparus Agassiz, 1846 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae:
Aphodiinae) from the Philippines are reviewed. Altogether six species are
recorded, including description of two species new to science from Mindanao
Island: R. flavohirtus sp. nov. and R. mindanaoensis sp. nov. Rhyparus gracilis
Arrow, 1905 and R. barclayi Masumoto, Ochi & Ho, 2019 are recorded from
the Philippines for the first time. All species are diagnosed and illustrated,
including photos of epipharyngi and male genitalia. A key to Philippine
Rhyparus species is provided.
