Abstract: Checklist of the Vespidae of the Czech Republic and Slovakia is pre- sented:
80 species are known from the Czech Republic (69 from Bohemia, 76 from
Moravia), and 87 from Slovakia. Ancistrocerus renimacula (Lepeletier, 1841) and
Polistes sulcifer Zimmermann, 1930 are new for the Czech Republic; Eumenes
coronatus (Panzer, 1799) is new for Moravia; Stenodynerus clypeopictus
(Kostylev, 1940), Ancistrocerus renimacula, Eumenes coarctatus lunulatus
Fabricius, 1804, and Eumenes coronatus are new for Slovakia. The occurrence of
the following very rare or extinct species was confirmed: Symmorphus angustatus
(Zetterstedt, 1838) for Bohemia; Polistes atrimandibularis Zimmermann, 1930 for
the Czech Republic, Parodontodynerus ephippium (Klug, 1817), and Polistes
sulcifer Zim- mermann, 1930 for Slovakia. A case of accidental introduction of
Vespa orientalis Linnaeus, 1771 is reported.
