Abstract: Svatactesis gen. nov. is established for Polyctesis johanidesi Bílý, 1997 known from Turkey and Iran, and compared with closely related genera Polyctesis Marseul, 1865, Bellamyina Bílý, 1994, and Schoutedeniastes Burgeon, 1941. Svatactesis johanidesi is re-described and illustrated. Composition, taxonomic state and relations of Polyctesini Cobos, 1955 and diagnostic characters of the genera belonging to the Polyctesis generic-group are discussed. The Schoutedeniastes magnifica (Waterhouse, 1875), S. amabilis (Laporte & Gory, 1835) and S. vitalisi (Bourgoin, 1922) species-groups are distinguished within the genus Schoutedeniastes. Evident variability of the main diagnostic characters among species-groups cast doubts on the monophyly of this genus. First exact record of Svatactesis johanidesi from Iran is provided.

Abstract: Redeicephala taylori gen. & sp. nov. (Hemiptera. Heteroptera: Reduviidae: Tribelocephalinae: Opistoplatyini) is described from Torricelli Mountains, New Guinea. The phylogenetic affinities of the new genus are discussed. Morphological characters which could be useful in a systematic analysis of Tribelocephalinae are also noted.

Abstract: Ambunticoris sulawesicus sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Miridae: Bryocorinae: Eccritotarsini) is described from Sulawesi, Indonesia. Diagnosis, digital habitus images, illustrations of male and female genital structures, and scanning micrographs of diagnostic morphological structures are provided for the new species. Diagnosis of the tribe Eccritotarsini and placement of the genus Ambunticoris Carvalho, 1981 within this tribe are briefly discussed.

Abstract: Immature stages III–V are described for the first time and additional information on the males and females of Nabis ashworthi Faúndez & Carvajal, 2014 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Nabidae: Nabinae) are given, including descriptions of their genitalia, based on specimens from the Argentine Patagonia. This is the first record of this species from Argentina. The geographical distribution and habitat of Nabis ashworthi are discussed.

Abstract: Winklerites stevanovici sp. nov., of the W. hercegovinensis (Winkler, 1925) species group (sensu Guéorguiev 2007) (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Trechinae: Anillini: Scotodipnina), is described from eastern Serbia. Male and female genitalia as well as the habitus are illustrated. The new species is separated from all other species of the group, especially from the very similar W. serbicus Čurćić et al., 2013, by supraorbital setae more distant, posterior pronotal angles pointed and prominent, different position of setae of umbilicate series, median lobe of aedeagus in lateral view with triangular apex longer and slender, with well defined pre-apical ventral gibbosity and shorter parameres. The distributional map of all species of the W. hercegovinensis group is provided.

Abstract: The Neotropical species of Platynectes Régimbart, 1879 sensu stricto (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae: Agabinae: Platynectini) are arranged into three newly proposed species groups based on the coloration of the venter: the P. submaculatus species group, the P. agallithoplotes species group, and the P. nigerrimus species group. The species of the P. submaculatus group and P. agallithoplotes group are treated in detail including the description of five new species: P. agallithoplotes sp. nov. (Venezuela), P. elaskanaima sp. nov. (Venezuela), P. garciai sp. nov. (Venezuela, Guyana), P. meru sp. nov. (Venezuela) and P. tafelbergensis sp. nov. (Suriname). The lectotype is designated for Agabus decemnotatus Aubé, 1838, and the species is, together with Platynectes submaculatus (Laporte, 1835) redescribed based on the recently collected material. For each species of the P. agallithoplotes group and P. submaculatus group a dorsal habitus, illustration of the median lobe of the aedeagus, distribution maps, and habitat photos are figured. Keys to the species groups and species of the P. submaculatus group are included. A checklist to the species of Neotropical Platynectes sensu stricto is provided.

Abstract: Exocelina ransikiensis sp. nov. is described from the eastern part of the Bird’s Head Peninsula, New Guinea (West Papua Province, Indonesia). It is the eighth Exocelina Broun, 1886 species known from the peninsula, and clearly differs from the other species, all of which belong to the E. ekari-group, by its smaller size and shape of the male antennae and genitalia. Based on our study of the morphological characters and molecular phylogenetic analysis, we propose a separate species group for it. Important diagnostic characters (dorsal habitus and coloration, as well as the shape of the male antennae, protarsomeres 4–5, median lobe, and parameres) of the new species are illustrated.

Abstract: The taxonomy, larval morphology and cytogenetics of Lihelophorus Zaitzev, 1908, a subgenus of Helophorus Fabricius, 1775 endemic to the Tibetan Plateau, are examined based on recently collected material and the inspection of type and historical specimens. Three species are recognized: Helophorus (Lihelophorus) lamicola Zaitzev, 1908 (type species), H. (L.) ser Zaitzev, 1908 and H. (L.) yangae sp. nov.; all of them are (re)described and their diagnostic characters are discussed and illustrated. First instar larvae of two species, H. lamicola and H. yangae, both obtained from egg cases laid by field-collected adults and confirmed as conspecific with them by means of cox1 DNA sequences, are described and compared in detail with the larva of H. (Helophorus) liguricus Angus, 1970. Larvae of both species differ from all other Helophorus larvae by strongly asymmetrical nasale and extremely long legs, larvae of H. lamicola are unique among Helophorus in the presence of abdominal tracheal gills. Mitotic karyotypes from mid-gut cells and meiotic karyotypes from testes are described for all three species, revealing the karyotype 2n = 20 +Xyp for all of them. All these data (larval morphology, DNA sequences and karyotypes) are in agreement with the presence of three species of Lihelophorus revealed by adult morphology, and also support the monophyly of the subgenus. Known data on biology and distribution of Lihelophorus are summarized, including the highest known altitudinal record for an aquatic beetle (5350 m a.s.l.). The unusual larval morphology of Lihelophorus is discussed in detail and hypothesized as adaptation for high altitude cold changeable environment. The systematic position of Lihelophorus and the composition of the Helophorus fauna of the Tibetan Plateau are briefly discussed.

Abstract: Hydrobiomorpha perissinottoi sp. nov. is described from iSimangaliso Wetland Park, in the Maputaland region of KwaZulu-Natal, Republic of South Africa. The new species was found in a range of small wetlands around Lake St. Lucia, where it appears to be relatively abundant. Diagnostic notes are provided to allow H. perissinottoi sp. nov. to be distinguished from other Afrotropical species of the genus, together with information on its ecology. The new species was part of a diverse water beetle fauna and co-occurred with the superficially similar Hydrochara fulvofemorata (Fairmaire, 1869), which is reported from the Republic of South Africa for the first time.

Morphometric characters derived from the head capsule, mouthparts and legs are also included, together with detailed illustrations of all characters. Morphology and chaetotaxy of these larvae are compared to that of other described Coelostomatini larvae.

Abstract: The Bolbelasmus Boucomont, 1911 species of the western and southern regions of the Mediterranean Basin (Northern Africa, Iberian Peninsula and France) are revised. The following three new species are described: Bolbelasmus brancoi Hillert & Král sp. nov. and Bolbelasmus howdeni Hillert & Král sp. nov., both from Spain and Gibraltar, and Bolbelasmus nikolajevi Hillert, Arnone, Král & Massa sp. nov. from Egypt, Libya and Tunisia. Bolbelasmus vaulogeri (Abeille de Perrin, 1898) stat. restit. is removed from synonymy with B. bocchus (Erichson, 1841) and reinstated as a separate species. Bolbelasmus romanorum Arnone & Massa, 2010 is considered a junior subjective synonym of B. vaulogeri. Lectotypes for Bolboceras bocchus Erichson, 1841 and Bolboceras vaulogeri Abeille de Perrin, 1898 are designated. Relevant diagnostic characters (head, pronotum, elytron, external male genitalia) are illustrated. Identification keys for both males and females, and an annotated list of the Western Palaearctic representatives of the genus Bolbelasmus are presented. Finally, first records are given for B. gallicus (Mulsant, 1842) from Corsica and the Midi-Pyrénées region of France, B. keithi Miessen & Trichas, 2011 from the Greek island of Rhodes, and B. unicornis (Schrank von Paula, 1789) from the Tuscany province of Italy.

Lycocerus rhagonychiformis is redescribed in detail, with the first description of female. Each species is provided with illustrations of genitalia of both sexes and abdominal ventrite VII of female. A distribution map is also presented. In addition, a new species-group including both species is herein proposed.

Abstract: The study of Japanese encyrtids has been started with desctiption of first new species by Howard in 1898. Later many authors devoted their attention to the study of Encyrtidae in Japan. Almost all type specimens of Encyrtidae, described by Tei Ishii and Tetsusaburo Tachikawa, were examined, and all Encyrtidae recorded from Japan, which were available in Japanese collections, are revised. Fifty-two genera and 150 species were recorded to date from Japan. Five new species are described and illustrated: Aphidencyrtoides tachikawai Japoshvili sp. nov., Leptomastix teii Japoshvili sp. nov., Psyllaephagus enokicola Japoshvili sp. nov., P. higashiurai Japoshvili sp. nov. and P. kamitanii Japoshvili sp. nov. One genus, Parablastothrix Mercet, 1917, and five species, Adelencyrtus comis (Noyes & Ren, 1987), Anagyrus bicolor Noyes & Hayat, 1994, Leptomastix auraticorpus Girault, 1915, Parablastothrix maritima Logvinovskaya, 1981, and Syrphophagus aeruginosus (Dalman, 1820), were recorded for the first time from the country. Abstract: Hitherto, the Paleogene fossil genus Acartophthalmites Hennig, 1965 included only the type species, A. tertiaria Hennig, 1965, from Baltic amber (Eocene, ca. 40 Mya). An additional species, Acartophthalmites clusioides sp. nov., is described based on a well preserved male in a Baltic amber inclusion from Kaliningrad: Yantarny (Russia). It distinctly differs from A. tertiaria in a number of characters demonstrating that the genus Acartophthalmites is morphologically more diverse than considered previously. Moreover, the study of A. clusioides resulted in finding that Acartophthalmites is obviously not related to Acartophthalmidae (where it was originally affiliated), but seems to be closer to Clusiidae, although surely not belonging to the latter family as currently delimited. Therefore a revision of all available specimens of Acartophthalmites is suggested to gain a more complete set of morphological data of this genus, enabling analysis of its phylogenetic relationships.

Abstract: Type specimens from the insect collections deposited in the Department of Entomology, National Museum, Prague, are currently being catalogued. In this part of the catalogue we deal with Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha. This group is namely represented in the museum by the whitefly collection of Jiří Zahradník and the scale insect collections of Jiří Zahradník and Josef Řeháček, while the psyllid material was mostly collected by Jiří Dlabola and other workers of the department and identified by Marianna M. Loginova, Daniel Burckhardt and Pavel Lauterer (material from the expeditions of the National Museum to Iran in 1970s is particularly numerous and scientifically valuable). We list the types of 36 taxa (3 in Aleyrodomorpha, 3 in Coccomorpha, and 30 in Psyllomorpha), including holotypes or syntypes of 14 taxa (3 in Aleyrodomorpha, 2 in Coccomorpha, and 9 in Psyllomorpha).
