Bojková Jindřiška, Soldán TomášStoneflies (Plecoptera) of the Czech Republic: species checklist, distribution and protection statusActa Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 53(2): 443-484Abstract: A new checklist of Plecoptera of the Czech Republic was prepared based on the compilation of published faunistic data from 1420 sites (143 references) and unpublished data from 775 sites collected during the past 20 years. The history of Plecoptera research in the Czech Republic is briefly summarized. Altogether 95 species are recorded from the Czech Republic (85 species from Bohemia, 81 species from Moravia). In comparison with the previous checklist of Plecoptera, 13 species were added, 8 previously mentioned species were not confirmed, and some misidentifications are discussed. The distribution of species in eight districts based on main river basins, and species frequencies of occurrence and ranges of altitude and stream order of their localities are presented. Evaluation of data on species distribution from the past century enabled re-evaluation of threatened species. The new red list includes 5 regionally extinct, 6 critically endangered, 3 endangered, 10 vulnerable and 12 near threatened species. A special attention is paid to 8 species described from the present territory of the Czech Republic. Their type material, type localities and nomenclature are given and discussed. Nemoura monticola Raušer, 1965, syn. nov., is placed as a junior synonym of Nemoura fusca Kis, 1963.

Jia Fenglong, Short Andrew E. Z.Enochrus algarum sp. nov., a new hygropetric water scavenger beetle from China (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae: Enochrinae)Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 53(2): 609-614Abstract: Enochrus algarum sp. nov. is described from Fujian Province in southern China. Its unusual combination of weakly impressed elytral striae, an entire fifth abdominal ventrite, and short maxillary palps make subgeneric placement difficult, and thus we do not assign it to any subgenus and place it as Enochrus incertae sedis for the time being. All specimens were collected on wet rock surfaces with dense algae or in decaying plants beside wet rock. It is the first species of the genus from East Asia known to occur in hygropetric habitats.
Deler-Hernández Albert, Cala-Riquelme Franklyn, Fikáček MartinDescription of a new species of Phaenonotum from eastern Cuba (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae: Sphaeridiinae)Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 53(2): 615-622Abstract: A new species of the genus Phaenonotum Sharp, 1882, P. delgadoi sp. nov., is described from the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountain range in eastern Cuba. The new species is diagnosed from other species of the genus, and compared in detail with P. exstriatum (Say, 1835) and P. minor Smetana, 1978. All specimen of the new species were collected by sifting forest leaf litter far from any known water source and the species is therefore likely terrestrial.

Roháček JindřichReliquantha variipes gen. & sp. nov., a peculiar new taxon of Anthomyzidae (Diptera) from Great Britain with uncertain relationshipsActa Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 53(2): 793-814Abstract: A new genus Reliquantha is established for R. variipes sp. nov., an enigmatic species of Anthomyzidae discovered in Great Britain (Wales, England). The new genus and species is distinguished by a very peculiar combination of plesiomorphic and apomorphic characters including several unique structures previously unknown in Anthomyzidae. Although its relationships has not been resolved definitely, it is suggested by certain similarities to fossil Lacrimyza Roháček, 2013 from Baltic amber that it could be a remnant of an otherwise extinct Tertiary clade of the subfamily Anthomyzinae. The uniquely hirsute medandrium (= subepandrial sclerite) found in R. variipes sp. nov. is considered to be further evidence supporting the hypothesis that this structure is homologous with (fused) basal parts of the gonopods (= gonocoxites, basistyli).
